
Nurses Network on Tobacco Control of Thailand was founded in 2005 and was supported by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation. The objectives are to promote nursing competencies in tobacco control and cessation counseling for smokers in hospitals and in communities, and through collaborations with other health professional networks, to prevent tobacco and secondhand smoke related diseases.

1. To be a role model for non-smokers and promote a non-smoking culture
2. Survey health professionals who are smokers and develop a health policy for tobacco control
3. Create smoke-free environments in buildings and public meeting areas
4. Address tobacco control in every conference or seminar
5. Include smoking history, history of secondhand smoke exposure and smoking cessation advice in every clinical or health service encounter
6. Include tobacco control in education programs and activities
7. Strongly participate in international tobacco free activities
8. Decrease support for all tobacco industries
9. Not to support or benefit from tobacco related industries
10. Inhibit tobacco sales in all institutions
11. Support all government tobacco control activities
12. Maintain professional ethics and support tobacco control activities
13. Participate in professional network activities on tobacco control
14. Support public campaigns for a smoke-free environment
